Federal Bank's annual investor conference brings together 300 high-net-worth individuals, institutional investors, and board members for a day of presentations, panel discussions, and networking. The bank's corporate communications team wanted to provide professional event photos to every attendee as a relationship-building touchpoint, but faced stringent regulatory constraints around handling personal data.
As a regulated financial institution operating under both Indian data protection laws and international GDPR standards (due to the presence of European institutional investors), Federal Bank could not use any photo delivery platform that stored biometric data on shared servers, retained facial embeddings beyond the event window, or lacked a clear audit trail for data processing and deletion.
Previous attempts to distribute event photos through email galleries had been vetoed by the compliance team due to concerns about facial data being stored indefinitely on third-party platforms. All facial data was automatically purged 24 hours after the event concluded, and Federal Bank received a signed data deletion certificate for their compliance records.
